Special Physical Training
What we teach it is not martial arts. It is a combat system based on simple principles and instinctive movements. It is designed for effective self-defense in the shortest time possible. It integrates unarmed and armed combatives from many different sources enabling trainees to adapt to a variety of contingency situations. The system has been tested on the battlefield and in the streets.
Foundations of Unarmed Combat for Intelligence Operators
Objectives
The goal of this course is to train intelligence operators in the fundamentals of unarmed combat so that they can defend themselves in a variety of situations.
Upon completion of this course, operators will be able to:
- Induce the state of situational awareness in contingency situation
- Execute basic striking and grappling techniques
- Escape from holds and grapples
- Defend themselves against multiple attackers
- Use improvised weapons
- Make decisions under stress
Basic Curriculum
- Striking techniques: This section covers punches, kicks, elbows, and knees. Operators will learn how to deliver these strikes effectively and safely.
- Grappling techniques: This section covers takedowns, throws, and ground fighting. Operators will learn how to control and subdue an attacker who is larger or stronger than them.
- Escapes: This section covers techniques for escaping from holds and grapples. Operators will learn how to break free from an attacker’s grip and get to safety.
- Multiple attackers: This section covers techniques for defending against multiple attackers. Operators will learn how to use their surroundings to their advantage and how to coordinate their attacks with other operators.
- Improvised weapons: This section covers techniques for using improvised weapons, such as chairs, tables, and bottles. Operators will learn how to use these weapons to defend themselves against an attacker.
- Stress training: This section focuses on teaching operators how to make decisions under stress using special field techniques Operators will be put through a variety of scenarios that will test their ability to stay calm and think clearly under pressure.
Requirements
- All operators must be in good physical condition.
- All operators must be able to pass a physical fitness test.
- All operators must be able to pass a background check.
- All operators must sign a waiver that indemnifies the school from any liability.
- Course will maintain a comprehensive insurance coverage.
Duration
The course lasts for twenty-four two weeks, one hour per day, five days per week, the total of 120 hours.
Course Instructors
The course is taught by experienced instructors from the U.S. Special Forces.
Materials
The School provides all necessary materials, including uniforms, equipment, and training manuals.
Assessment
Operators are assessed throughout the course on their ability to perform the skills taught. At the end of the course, operators take a final exam to demonstrate their mastery of the material.
Course Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, operators will be able to defend themselves in a variety of situations.
They will be able to execute basic striking and grappling techniques, escape from holds and grapples, defend themselves against multiple attackers, use improvised weapons, and make decisions under stress.
