TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT
The Foundation sponsors researchers and developers who can deliver tangible practical outcomes for the applications in the range of fields, including information technology, artificial intelligence, advanced communications, and innovative society development technologies, with the primary focus on the products for strengthening the national security of the United States.
RESEARCH GRANTS
Grants are awarded specifically for applied (as opposed to pure academic) research, which means that the resulting products will contribute to the country’s national security, and provide the U.S. a competitive edge in the today’s world, actually saving people’s lives.
Do you have a product or technology that can contribute to national security? We can help you get it to the right levels.
Is your idea still at the research stage? We can help you turn it into a product.
EXAMPLES OF RESEARCH OBJECTIVES
Objective: Prevent unintended nuclear conflict due to AI-enabled launch authorization.
Objective: Enable effective verification of potential future arms control agreements, which provides confidence systems are working as intended without revealing sensitive operational details.
- Analytical Tradecraft
- Operational Tradecraft
- Special IT and AI/ML
- Special Communications
Of course, technical and operational creativity knows no borders. Whether you are a researcher in the areas mentioned on this page or you just have other ideas that you believe are both great and practical, we are interested in hearing from you.
GRANTS FOR RESEARCH FOCUSED ON NATIONAL SECURITY.
ACCESS TO ONE OF THE WORLD’S MOST ADVANCED ANALYTICAL CAPABILITIES.
MINIMUM BUREAUCRACY, MAXIMUM SUPPORT. ONCE YOU ARE IN, YOU ARE ONE OF US. OUR RESOURCES WILL BE BEHIND YOU.
If you are a researcher in the areas mentioned on this page, we are interested in hearing from you.
We will be interested in discussing other applications for the national security sector, as well. We are perfectly open to ideas that will catalyze U.S. leadership in microelectronics, biotechnology, quantum computing, 5G and 6G, robotics and autonomous systems, additive manufacturing, and energy storage technology.
IF YOU ARE READY, HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED TO PROVIDE TO GET A CONVERSATION GOING
- Cover letter with clearly stated research objectives
- Curriculum Vitae
- Academic transcript(s)
- Two letters of recommendation
- Short proposal for use of funds
- Writing sample
Applicants may send the required materials to contact@gulfstreamfoundation.org
Applications will be considered on an ongoing basis.
HOW TO PROPOSE A PROJECT BASED ON DATA ANALYSYS
If you have an idea for a project based on data analysis that can be accomplished by utilizing one of the most advanced analytical platforms available today, here is what you need to do.
Remember that “project” is defined as the scope and duration of the development program undertaken with the assistance of the Foundation. At the end of the development program your product should be close to market-ready. All activities required for subsequent commercial manufacturing, specification, and market introduction should be described in the Project Proposal including beta-site testing, regulatory approvals and test marketing. Also remember that both the project and the resulting product(s) at all times are and will remain yours. We are just helping you to make it happen.
1. Prepare a good description of your project. You will have to convince us that your project makes sense, and that it is realizable. You need to make us clearly understand who will benefit from your project and how.
2. Identify sources of data for your project. Our platform can handle enormous amounts of data, in fact, the more data, the more amazing are the results.
3. Have several datasets available for a test run. Your data needs to be large in volume, broad in scope, varied in its sources, different in formats, and it should exceed the limits your direct topic.
4. Identify other resources that are required or will be required later for the implementation of the project.
5. Prepare a project feasibility study. The project must be economically sound.
These are mandatory. Your proposal must include all the above elements as a minimum for us to consider allocating the very valuable platform resources that also include computer time and analytical support.
Our platform’s capabilities rival those of large government agencies and corporations. It is unlikely that you can get access to analytical systems like that in regular environments. We are a non-profit organization who has them. Those resources will be given to you free of charge if your project fits into our mission, and has a potential to evolve into something of value to the country and the mankind.
You can talk to us first, and we will advise you how to make your pitch better.
